How do you get your child to drink from a SIPPY CUP?!

Pardon the spiderman sippy cups, but I've decided to post for the whole blogging community (that looks at my blog) a major issue we are having. How do you get your child to drink from a sippy cup?!!! I've had many people say to me, "It's no big deal as long he drinks from a cup." Obviously, no one who says this has ever had this problem.  My son will only drink from a regular small glass cup! We have tried over 9 sippy cups: different spouts, straws, etc. and have had absolutely nooooooooo luck.  He will not suck on anything except his fingers. I've even tried capri suns so that I could squeeze and make it come out of the straw in hopes that he will start sucking on it, but no luck there either. I am really at the end of my rope with our family constantly being covered from head to toe in chocolate milk and having him grab the glass and shake it or throw it.  So I put this out for all of you:  Do you have any ideas for me?

I think the biggest thing is just to ALWAYS put it in front of him & have it there for him to grab so he has the option. Eventually he will grab it & learn. He's still little. Have you tried different things in the sippie too? Alot of kids don't like milk in it at first - but maybe start with water? I don't know - good luck. Kids can be stubborn - even at that age!! So what are you having surgery on?
