Christmas Day. Big Surprise. Two of Everything.

This Christmas was so special. It was Jack's first Christmas (he didn't really care). His favorite thing was chewing on the ribbons from presents. But, here's the exciting and tender part. I am going to preface this by telling you all that I was very adamant that we have a strict budget this year as I bring in virtually no money and we have other things that we need. However, Nate and I both only really wanted one thing each for Christmas. Nate wanted an ipod nano and I wanted a Cricut machine. For those who don't know what a Cricut machine is, it's an expensive piece of equipment for scrapbooking, card making, etc. I knew that there was no way that we could afford one, but it's a Christmas wish, right? I knew that I wanted to get Nate an ipod nano, because he has worked so hard this year, however, I knew that there was not enough money in our budget for one and felt discouraged. I had the opportunity to do some training at the dental office and made some money from that and was then given a Christmas bonus from Dr. Bennett (though I don't know why) at the Christmas Party. Combining both things, I knew that I could put off some other things that we need and get Nate the nano!!! So, I did it. I was so excited because I knew that he had no idea. I was talking to a friend and she asked me what I wanted for Christmas and I was telling her about the Cricut machine and how there was no way that we could afford it. I knew that if Nate had broken down and found a way to get me one, that we would probably have to take it back since I had bought him the ipod nano. So, we went to Nate's work party where he won an ipod shuffle. I debated on whether or not to take back the nano that I bought him, but decided not to because there was a specific reason why he wanted the nano and I decided that it would be worth it. Well, Christmas Eve came and we went to my mom's for the festivities and then came home only to find a large package on our door step with my name on it and no card. We brought the gift inside and opened it to find that someone had left a Cricut machine for me on our door step anonymously!!!!! Well, Christmas morning came and Nate opened his nano and loved it and then gave me a Cricut machine, and both of our parents got us a microwave (cause ours is broken). So we sat there laughing with 2 Cricut Machines, 2 ipods, and 2 microwaves. Because of the severe generosity of others, we will actually be able to take back the Cricut that Nate bought, and one of the microwaves and get some things that we need that we no longer have to wait for.
To whomever gave me the Cricut machine, I thank you with all of my heart for loving me that much and caring that much about me. You have truly been a great example of love. I hope that my actions to you tell you thank you and reciprocate the charity that you have shown.
